What are Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are a new sophisticated development in aesthetics known as bio stimulators. They are ultra-purified, and sterilised DNA fragments, derived from salmon DNA.

How does it work?

Once injected into the skin polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts, enhancing cell renewal and the production of collagen and elastin. This results in improved elasticity, hydration and the reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, they possess the ability to soothe inflammation and restore the balance of melanocyte activity (skin pigmentation), resulting in a more even and refreshed skin tone without adding volume like traditional dermal fillers.

How many treatments are needed?

A bespoke treatment plan will be recommended depending on your skin condition, but is typically 3 to 4 treatments at 2-week intervals followed by 1 maintenance session every 6 to 12 months.

When will I see the results?

Although improvements in skin quality can be seen in a few weeks, best results can be noticed up to 3 months after the final treatment.

Where can polynucleotides be used?

They are largely used to target the skin on and around the face but can also be used on the neck, decolletage and hands.

Polynucleotides are ideal for:

  • Lifting and tightening the skin
  • Improving skin texture and smoothness
  • Brightening the skin
  • Increasing volume within the skin
  • Minimising acne scars
  • Minimising/restoring hair loss

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before the treatment to help make you more comfortable, however some discomfort may still be felt.

Downtime

After the treatment has been administered, there will be some redness and occasionally there may be light bruises.
