The Clock Tower Dental Clinic uses the Compudent™ or Wand system to deliver local anaesthetic. Milestone Scientifics' computer controlled local anesthetic delivery systems, which features the Wand®, a lightweight handpiece that looks like a pen, and eliminates the pain you get from an injection.

The CompuDent™ system features state-of-the-art technology that makes painful injections a thing of the past. This revolutionary system, consisting of two main elements, the CompuDent™ computer and the Wand handpiece, features a pain-free approach to delivering local anesthetic.

Topical anaesthetic is first applied to freeze the gum and then a tiny needle is gently introduced through the already-numb tissue to anaesthetize the surrounding area. The controlled flow also eliminates the "bee sting" effect, which is descriptive of the pain associated with a surge of fluids into tissue. More information......
