Dr Deepi MurphyDr Deepi Murphy BDS LFHOM

Deepi qualified from Manchester university in 1990. After a vocational training position she entered general dental practice in 1992 gaining much experience in surgical dentistry.

Since 1993 she has been interested in dental homeopathy (British Homeopathic Dental Association site - opens in a new window) and the practice of mercury-free dentistry. In 1995 she achieved the status of licensed associate of the faculty of homeopathy at London University with the LFHOM qualification.

Deepi's main professional interests are , thus, homeopathic dentistry, mercury-free dentistry, and treatment of the anxious or phobic patient. Homeopathy can be very effective in the management of such cases.

She has also held a clincal attachment position at Guys Hospital in the periodontology department.

Dr Andrew Murphy BDS MSc

Dr Andrew MurphyAndrew Murphy qualified from Manchester university in 1990 and undertook a vocational training course to gain a wider level of experience in general dentistry and in surgical dentistry.

He then entered general practice in 1992 and moved into private practice in 1993 in Kingston , Surrey.

Together with Deepi Murphy he became owner and principal of the Clock Tower Dental Clinic in 1996. Since this time, the practice has been transformed into the state-of-the-art-facility it is today. The emphasis of the transformation has been on equipment and training, not on excessive decoration or marketing strategies.

In 1994, after the completion of a yearlong implant program with Michael Norton in London's Harley Street, Dr Murphy began treating patients with dental implant therapies.

In 1998 he completed a Diploma in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Dental institute, the foremost postgraduate dental hospital in the UK. In 2001 he undertook a full time Masters degree program at the same institute, in Dental Implantology.

Invaluable experience was gained restoring very large cases and in the provision of all aspects of the most modern dental implant technology. Dr Murphy was awarded the Nobel Biocare prize for Implantology during this study period.

Andrew worked part time in the advanced implant restorative department of the world famous St George's Hospital in South West London. Andrew lectures about Implantology to varying groups of dentists.

Andrew Murphy was part of the restorative team at Kingston hospital NHS trust. In this capacity treatment is provided for advanced restorative and implant cases especially following facial reconstruction

Andrew is interested in all aspects of the dental field but focuses on implantology and cosmetic dentistry. He welcomes nervous patients.

Andrew and Deepi have three children.

Dr Katrina Karayiannakis

Dr Katrina Karayiannakis is a new addition to the dental team, having joined the practice in April 2006. Katrina attained her qualifications in South Africa in 1995 and is now studying part time at London's prestigious Eastman Dental Institute for a postgraduate diploma in restorative dentistry. She provides all types of restorative dental treatment including cosmetics and minimally-invasive dentistry.

Hygienist

Joan Hamilton has been a practicing dental hygienist for twenty years and recently achieved the qualifications need to provide extended duties. She features heavily in all treatment plans because, through a modern hygiene programme, it is possible to prevent future dental problems and reduce dramatically the need for extensive dental treatment.

Anaesthetist/Sedation

Dr Joe Omar, medical doctor and lecturer in Harley street and around the West End of London is available to provide specialist sedation services in the clinic for those patients who require this.

Dr Omar offers IV sedation at any time such that arrangements for this type of treatment are very straightforward.

Periodontology

We are, at present (March 2008), interviewing for a periodontist to replace our departing colleague who is returning to his native country.

The dentists are members of the British Dental Association, The London Dental Study Club (Andrew Murphy has been President), The Association of Dental Implantologists, The British Homeopathic Dental Association, The Eastman Dental Academy,amongst others.

Practice Manager

Teressa Townend has been with the clinic for nine years and is well regarded for her caring approach to dental patients

Head Nurse

Charlotte Murphy (no relation) has been the senior nurse at the clinic for over ten years.
