Clocktower Aesthetics – Part One

Our Epsom patients can now benefit from a wider range of the latest facial aesthetic treatments

For many years now, we have become well known in the Epsom area for providing cosmetic dentistry, and indeed many of our patients have seen a great improvement not only in the appearance of their teeth, but their health too.

This is something that we fully intend to continue, but with an eye on the future we are now pleased to introduce you to some of the latest facial aesthetic treatments offered at our clinic.

These excellent treatments can be completed in conjunction with a smile makeover or independently if preferred.

As there are a number of new treatments, we will briefly discuss each of them over two blogs. Skin Boosters

Skin boosters do what their name suggests and help to rejuvenate your skin. They are applied in the form of small injections underneath the surface of the skin and work to improve appearance and texture. They are not only suitable for improving tired or finely wrinkled skin, but can be used to improve areas affected by damage or skin conditions such as acne.

Aquagold

Aquagold is a micro infusion facial device that supplies the skin with a range of selective ingredients to improve its quality. Our clinician will select the most appropriate ingredients for your own skin to ensure that you attain the best results possible. It can help to smooth skin, reduce pores and improve the appearance of your skin where scarring or other damage has occurred. Aquagold is an ideal treatment for those who want to give their skin a real boost.

Microneedling

Microneedling is used to encourage the body’s own resources to start to produce new collagen and to tone your skin. It can be a way of effectively improving areas that have been affected by scarring, such as acne. Microneedling is not a painful procedure but we do understand that some people have phobias of needles. Those used in microneedling are very fine though and we recommend that you discuss with us if you have any concerns about receiving this treatment.

PRP (vampire facial)

PRP stands for ‘platelet rich plasma’ and is also called by some, a ‘vampire facial’. Popular with celebrities amongst others, it uses your own blood cells to stimulate new collagen growth. Briefly, a small amount of blood is taken, usually from your arm, and then separated into blood cells, serum and platelets. The latter part is then injected into areas that have been previously treated with microneedling. It is a safe procedure that can be used in areas where dermal fillers may not be appropriate.

PRP for hair regeneration

As well as skin improvement, PRP has also been used to improve hair regrowth on the scalp and to slow down the rate of hair follicle loss. This treatment is suitable for both men and women who are concerned about their own hair loss.

Peels

Skin peels use naturally occurring fruit acids and enzymes to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. It can encourage new cell growth and also encourage collagen production which will help your skin look and feel younger and healthier too. It can help to reduce damage to the skin caused by sun exposure and even improve the appearance of acne affected skin areas.

Peels with microneedling

Peels can be combined with microneedling to improve the effect on your skin. A skin peel is carried out as described above to exfoliate the top layers of the skin. This is then followed up a little later with microneedling which is now able to reach into the deeper layers of your skin to maximise the improvements offered by this treatment. As with all of the above treatments, we will discuss the various options with you and evaluate the most appropriate treatments to offer.
